Meet Karla Jones Seidita the woman behind Cheesecake Farms
Karla Jones Seidita is a graduate Home Economist with concentrations in both nutrition and education so it’s not surprising that she loves great food prepared with optimal health in mind. Having traveled and studied all over the world, she brings an infusion of good taste to her cook books, classes, and the cuisine of Cheesecake Farms.
How did Cheesecake Farms get started?
“My husband and I have lived at Cheesecake Farms for almost 30 years. We have horses, lush pastures and walking trails punctuated by native plants that feed the grazing wild life and encourage birds to grace us with their beauty and song.
After retiring from my wholesale cheesecake business of 20 years, I decided it was time to share the farm with others. Using my business background as well as my background as an educator, Cheesecake Farms became an Agri-Educational Sanctuary for Learning and Refreshment. In this hectic world, it’s nice to have a place that’s quiet and off the beaten path but close to everywhere you want to be.”
Hobbies
“Gardening is one of my passions – although I don’t get into the gardens as much as I’d like lately. Mother Nature is our reflexion of self. The same principles of health and well being that apply to gardens and nature apply to people. I have grown in my gardening style from that of trying to force Mother Nature to working with her. She has rewarded me with abundance”
Favorite Activities and Things to Do
“My husband and I both adore entertaining – and that includes the guests who stay at our Bed and Breakfast! We love being around people and there are so many interesting people with interesting jobs doing interesting things and visiting interesting places. We love it and never tire of it!!”
